Ukraine peace talks march to the beat of Russian bombs

While delegations from Russia, Ukraine and the US held separate talks about bringing peace to the Black Sea, Moscow attacked children’s hospitals and kindergartens in Ukraine’s Sumy region, injuring 65 people.

This followed a weekend drone attack on Kyiv that killed a 5-year-old girl, her father and an 80-year-old woman who was burned alive.

Last week Trump announced that Putin had agreed not to target Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, which was quickly followed by attacks on Odesa, Kyiv and other cities.

“We are listening to the sounds of ceasefire,” Ukrainians wrote on social media at the time.

Not only is Russia continuing to target civilian infrastructure across Ukraine, it’s also continuing to lie.

Challenged recently on why Moscow bombed Mariupol with hundreds of civilian casualties at the start of the war, Andrey Kelin, the Russian ambassador to London, simply denied the bombing occurred.
