Russia hits children’s hospital in Kyiv

Russia hits children’s hospital in Kyiv

At least 41 people died yesterday in Russian strikes on Ukrainian cities, which damaged a children’s hospital in Kyiv. The large-scale hypersonic missile assault also struck residential buildings and infrastructure, according to Ukraine’s Zelensky. Officials said the damage to the children’s hospital – which is Ukraine’s largest medical structure for children – was from a direct hit to one of its wards. Videos posted on social media show medics and members of the public digging through the rubble to find survivors. Images from Reuters also showed children who had been receiving cancer treatment lining the pavement in wheelchairs outside the hospital. Another attack on Kyiv was launched later in the day, which led to debris damaging a maternity hospital. A recent analysis found an estimated 106 hospitals and clinics, 109 churches and 708 schools and colleges have been damaged or destroyed by Russia since the full-scale invasion in 2022.
