Prince William takes over front pages of Harry’s most hated paper

Some five years before Prince Harry settled his case against the publisher of the Sun, Prince William was allegedly paid a “very large sum of money” to reach his own settlement.

This claim, which emerged in court documents from Harry’s case, has never definitively been proven.

But if William did ever have animosity towards the Sun, it can’t be said to exist now.

The Sun gave over the first seven pages of its Friday edition to a “royal world exclusive” that included discussion of William’s love for his football team Aston Villa, his thoughts on England’s World Cup hopes and his preference for Lionel Messi over Cristiano Ronaldo.

The takeover was followed on Saturday by a comment piece from Tony Parsons arguing that the “soft power of our monarchy was more needed than ever”.

To fill the pages of the Sun, quite possibly.
