“Don’t give me this shit. I call a lot of people on Fridays, and there’s not a goddamn person you can get a hold of.” Those were the words of Jamie Dimon revealed in a leaked viral video.
During the tirade, obtained by Barron’s, the JPMorgan CEO rails against work-from-home policies that “don’t work” for “spontaneous idea generation”, “culture” or “the hustle”, and will cease to exist for his employees from March.
Trump is of the same mind. He’s ordered most federal employees back to the office five days a week.
But some of Dimon’s peers in the banking sector aren’t so sure. Jane Fraser, CEO of Citigroup, has told top executives the bank will continue to allow most employees to work remotely two days a week.
On a recent management call Fraser referred to the policy as "competitive advantage” and a recruitment tool to attract employees who dislike rivals’ rigid approach.
