9 to 5 influencer leaves his job due to the strain of repeatedly filming it

A digital creator who accrued millions of social media followers by filming his 9 to 5 has quit his 9 to 5 due to the demands of filming it.

Connor Hubbard, an insurance worker labelled “the most boring man on the internet”, has released hundreds of videos detailing and extolling the benefits of a mundane daily routine that invariably involves going to work, petting his dog, drinking a beer and slowly sliding his laptop into his backpack.

“I think most of the world is working,” Hubbard told GQ last year. “They have to work for a living. They can’t all be influencers.”

But Hubbard is an influencer, with merchandise, brand deals and a trademark: Normalize the Norm.

This week Hubbard said he was leaving his job, admitting the demands of working a 9 to 5 as well as filming it had become too much.

His audience may see some irony in this prompting him to quit his job, not his Instagram account.
