Who Let The Dogs Out: smells like Gen Z spirit

Who Let The Dogs Out: smells like Gen Z spirit

A signature gig move from Lambrini Girls’ vocalist and lead guitarist Phoebe Lunny is to jump into the crowd, beckon the closest men with a confident finger, then climb up on top of their shoulders as she viscerally spits out the lyrics to one of their punk bangers.

It is a perfect vignette for the energy the Brighton-based duo bring to their live shows – and now their first studio album, Who Let The Dogs Out.

Dedicated to “all the booze they bought at Tesco”, it would have been all too easy for songs tackling the police, workplace sexual abuse, gentrification, nepo-babies and diet culture, to feel closer to a student debating society social than music you want to listen to.

And that’s the beauty of Lambrini Girls. You can scream along with Lunny while appreciating that they sound really, really good.
