The days might be shorter and the weather more miserable but Brat summer is far from over. Brat and it’s completely different but also still brat is the remix version of Charli XCX’s Brat, which has maintained a vice-like grip on the zeitgeist for months. Announced with a series of signature lime billboards scattered around the world, Brat v2 is brat but, well… brattier. Featuring peers from Charli’s dance hyperpop playhouse (Tinashe, A.G. Cook, Troye Sivan) and a few offbeat indie artists (Bon Iver, The Japanese House), the album somehow keeps the heady euphoria of Brat v1 going from the club to the after-party. Stand-out remixes include Bb trickz’s dirty version of ‘Club classics’, Julian Casablancas from The Strokes going off-piste on ‘Mean girls’ and Shygirl’s floor-filling flow on ‘365’. Although no track quite tops the already released ‘Guess featuring billie eilish’ with the immortal lyric: “Charli likes boys but she knows I’d hit it.”
