The first index to benchmark nations on their level of investment, innovation and implementation of artificial intelligence.
Making sense of artificial intelligence… on a global scale
Artificial intelligence is a transformative phenomenon in business, government and society. But it is also commonly misunderstood or misrepresented.
The Global AI Index is making sense of artificial intelligence in 62 countries around the world.
We have examined the forces accelerating development in artificial intelligence through three pillars of analysis; investment, innovation and implementation.
Rankings
Use the toggle to switch between our Index’s ranks – where countries stand – or score – how far or close they are to each other. Use the arrows to sort the columns.
The Pillars
The Global AI Index is underpinned by 143 indicators split across seven sub-pillars: Talent, Infrastructure, Operating Environment, Research, Development, Government Strategy and Commercial. Each indicator pillar was weighted for importance after consultation with experts across the field.
We’ve convened experts from a variety of sectors, ranging from industry and academia to government. Each offers a unique perspective on the opportunities and challenges posed by artificial intelligence.
