Following the completion of Tortoise Media’s acquisition of The Observer, the company is delighted to launch the first dedicated website for the title, observer.co.uk.
The website will bring together the newspaper’s coverage across news, culture, style, and sport, focused around a daily edition. All new content published by Tortoise Media will appear there – including audio and newsletters.
The Observer’s combined newsroom brings together long standing Observer writers and critics such as Nigel Slater, Andrew Rawnsley, Eva Wiseman, Tim Adams, Rachel Cooke, Laura Cumming, and Fiona Maddocks with a bench of new hires including Rachel Sylvester, Rory Smith, Francisco Garcia, Sam Freedman, Tom Gatti and Sarah Manavis.
James Harding, editor-in-chief of The Observer, said: “We are passionate about print and now proudly daily. For the first time in 233 years, The Observer has a digital home of its own. We think the enemy of nonsense, as George Orwell called The Observer, is needed now more than ever.”
