Crispin Odey has rejoined Odey Asset Management more than a year after he left in the wake of sexual assault and harassment allegations against him.
A Tortoise investigation published in December 2022 revealed multiple claims from several women over many decades. In March, the former hedge fund manager was accused of rape.
Odey, who has strenuously denied the allegations and called himself a victim of a “witch hunt”, was named a director of Odey Asset Management last month. The firm changed its address to his residential property.
What’s left of one of Britain’s oldest hedge funds is another question. Last October, Odey Asset Management said it was winding down after investors withdrew funds.
The firm then applied to cancel its Financial Conduct Authorisation, which allows it to handle customer money.
