Evidence is growing that X users are tiring of the platform and its provocateur proprietor and looking elsewhere for social media.
Last Wednesday Reuters reported a surge in sign-ups for Bluesky, the app that looks like Twitter but isn’t owned by Elon Musk.
The surge was especially pronounced in the UK, where Musk has waded into local politics to forecast “civil war” in a situation which, though tense after last month’s riots, portends nothing of the sort.
Solid numbers on any migration away from X are hard to come by but on Friday, James Kirkham of the Iconic ad consultancy noted X had slipped down to around 60th in apps in the UK by iPhone download numbers, which he said was “comically” low.
