Yesterday, two men were arrested by Austrian police for allegedly planning attacks at major events in Vienna, including the pop star’s shows. One of the men arrested was a 19 year-old who allegedly pledged “an oath of allegiance” to the Islamic State group “in recent weeks”. Police said the man, who is an Austrian citizen, had become radicalised online and chemical substances were found at his home. Another man was arrested in Vienna. Late last night, concert organisers Barracuda Music announced the shows had been cancelled “for everyone’s safety”. From next Thursday 15 August, she is due to play five nights at London’s Wembley Stadium to a total of nearly half a million people.
