Furry activists hack conservative think tank

A group of self-proclaimed “gay furry hackers” appears to have hacked a conservative US think tank, attracting very public anger from one of its directors. The group known as SiegedSec claimed last week to have obtained emails, passwords and other user information from the Heritage Foundation, including information on US government employees. Mike Howell, executive director of the foundation’s Oversight Project, then contacted a member of the group and threatened them with outing, arrest, and most egregiously, prison rape. SiegedSec posted about the hack on Telegram last week, citing the foundation’s proposals for Project 2025, a collection of socially conservative policy ideas spearheaded by former Trump administration officials. It said Project 2025 “threatens the rights of abortion healthcare and LGBT+ communities in particular. So of course, we won't stand for that!” Heritage has denied the hack, but Howell has confirmed his interaction with SiegedSec as genuine, tweeting a screenshot of it captioned with Eminem lyrics.
