Las Vegas monolith mystifies police

The appearance of a mysterious monolith in the Nevada desert has baffled Las Vegas police. Officers came across the mirrored structure on a remote hiking trail over the weekend and shared an image on social media, inviting internet sleuths to “get to work on this mystery”. It’s the first time one of the 10-foot high reflective objects has popped up – apparently out of nowhere – since several appeared all over the world in 2020. The first one to be discovered back then was found in Utah by wildlife officials who were counting sheep, but it mysteriously disappeared shortly afterwards. A similar installation was found on the Isle of Wight but a designer later claimed he had erected it “just for fun” after seeing the news reports from Utah.
