Ticketmaster and Santander bank have been subjected to severe cyber attacks that may be targeting Snowflake, a common cloud database provider used by myriad companies. The group ShinyHunters stole details of tens of millions of Santander accounts and credit cards along with 560 million Ticketmaster accounts. Both companies have acknowledged the breaches and both use Snowflake to host their data. The main worry is that ShinyHunters may have found a way to access any Snowflake database. The company, which hosts data for MasterCard, Pfizer and Three, denies that hackers have a backdoor into its architecture. It claims the breaches came from poor security on the part of its clients.
