Ukraine sinks Russian missile carrier in Crimea

Ukraine’s military headquarters and Russian military bloggers say Ukrainian forces sunk a Russian cruise missile carrier in Sevastopol harbour on the night of 19 May. Armed with multiple missile systems and a Broadsword air defence system, the Cyclone was attacked with US-supplied ATACMS missiles, killing six and injuring 11 Russian Black Sea Fleet servicemen, according to one military blogger. A spokesperson for the defence forces of the South of Ukraine said this will mean Russian forces will no longer be able to launch Caliber cruise missiles from close range, claiming the Cyclone was the last ship of its kind in the Black Sea.
