Zaporizhzhia drone attack ‘false flag’ says report

Recent drone attacks on Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant may have been launched by Russia in a false flag operation, according to a new report commissioned by Greenpeace. The plant, which is currently under Russian military occupation, was targeted in a drone strike earlier this month after which each side blamed the other. The report from McKenzie Intelligence Services says that based on limited public imagery available, the drone was probably a short-range commercial model rather than a military device, suggesting it was “likely, but not conclusively” launched from Russian-occupied territory near the plant. It also said roof damage could have been caused by explosives placed on the building rather than an aerial attack. It’s not definitive. But it shows that within a tightly controlled area “a dangerous game” is being played, says Shaun Burnie, a nuclear specialist at Greenpeace Germany.
