Michael James Pratt, the alleged mastermind of the sex trafficking ring GirlsDoPorn, has been extradited to the US after three years on the run as one of the FBI’s ten most wanted fugitives. Between 2009-2020, GirlsDoPorn recruited young women through fake modelling ads, telling them at the last minute that they were expected to film explicit sex scenes. The women were told the videos would not be released online; in fact they were hosted on major websites including Pornhub, which called GirlsDoPorn an official “Content Partner”. “The public humiliation I got from this was also one of the hardest things that I’ve ever had to go through,” Kelly Lanzafame, who was trafficked in 2017, told Tortoise in a 2021 podcast. Aylo, which owns Pornhub, agreed to pay a $1.8 million government fine plus compensation to victims in December 2023, while five people who worked on GirlsDoPorn alongside Pratt have pleaded guilty. Pratt touched down in San Diego last month; he has pleaded not guilty.
