A new head has reared out of the hydra of AI-generated celebrity pornography. According to an investigation by 404 Media, the Australia-based AI image generator Leonardo has been used to create nude images of celebrities including Billie Eilish. Techniques include using prompt loopholes like misspelt celebrity names and sexually suggestive language without using explicit terms – tips are shared among users in a Telegram community dedicated to producing AI-generated non-consensual porn. When online users circulated AI-generated nudes of Taylor Swift earlier this year, Microsoft was quick to close loopholes in the training model of its AI tool, Designer. Other companies are either slower to act, or the bad actors are getting smarter in how they bypass AI safeguards. Sensity AI has reported about 90 per cent of non-consensual pornography is of women.
