One of three women who have asked to join a sexual abuse lawsuit against the hedge fund manager and Conservative donor Crispin Odey has accused him of rape. Odey’s alleged victims applied at the Royal Courts of Justice in London on Thursday to join two other women who filed the lawsuit for personal injury damages last year. Damages could run into the hundreds of thousands of pounds. The lawsuit was filed against Odey and Odey Asset Management in the wake of reporting by Tortoise and the FT that exposed multiple sexual assault and harassment allegations against Odey spanning decades. The allegation of rape has not been reported before. The firm, which Odey founded in 1991 and which managed £13 billion at its peak, has since been dismantled. Odey, who has strenuously denied the allegations against him, opposed the request for a joint claim through his lawyers. They told the court he had not received any documents related to the woman making the rape allegation save for a Letter before Claim.
