New US House Speaker has strange deal with his son

Little was known about Mike Johnson before he moved from Louisiana obscurity to two heartbeats from the US presidency as speaker of the house. Thanks to a recently resurfaced video from 2022, the world does know one thing: Johnson and his son monitor each other’s porn intake. The duo use a software called Covenant Eyes to act as each other’s “accountability buddies”, receiving at the end of each week a full list of their buddy’s internet history to ensure any e-urges were kept at bay. It’s another chapter that can be added to the book of revelations about Johnson since his ascension, standing alongside his welcoming of fossil fuel-funded campaign donations and description of same-sex marriage being “the dark harbinger of chaos and sexual anarchy”. Johnson has not responded to the media reports and it’s unclear if he still uses the third-party software – which could pose a security risk.
