Count Abdulla

Count Abdulla

Hot on the heels of Black Ops and We Are Lady Parts, Count Abdulla mashes together farce, satire, character comedy and genre tropes to mock everything from race to a garlic allergy. Arian Nik’s junior doctor is struggling to balance his traditional family with his work and social life when he is turned into a vampire by Jamie Winstone. The Home Office is peopled with racist vampires on the hunt for halal blood, there’s vegetarian Hindu vampires acting as gurus to yummy mummies and lots of slapstick. Dark, funny and filled with – literally – biting social commentary, this is a show that deserves far more attention than it’s going to get.

Count Abdulla is streaming on ITVX now
