President Joe Biden’s climate agenda was the most ambitious of any mainstream candidate. His pledge to re-join the Paris agreement on the first day of his presidency signals his intent. Continuing our work on climate change, at Tortoise we start this year by turning our attention to the so-called “doomsday glacier”, Thwaites, in Antarctica and ask: what is the ice telling us?
This ThinkIn marks the start of a year-long conversation, convened by Tortoise and supported by a coalition of businesses, NGOs and, of course, our members, called “Accelerating Net Zero”. Over the course of 2021, as we approach COP26 in November, we will produce a series of ThinkIns, investigations and reports designed to generate new ideas that have the potential to make real progress.
