We’re not just talking Tokyo. We’re talking about the whole movement. Only five cities bid for the 2024 games and three pulled out. There was only one bidder for each of 2028 and 2032. They’re expensive, disruptive and vulnerable to scandal. NBC still pays handsomely for the TV rights but that could change if crowd-free Tokyo’s a dud. Are they doomed, or are we just going through a grumpy patch?
