When remainers warned that leaving the EU could lead to fuel and food shortages Brexit, Leavers laughed it off as “project fear”. Politicians on both sides of the referendum argument insist that “Brexit is settled” – but it’s hard to believe that when you’re sitting in a 90 minute queue for petrol and facing empty supermarket shelves. If the current crisis could have been avoided with better planning, who should be held accountable for that lack of planning? If it was inevitable, is it bad enough (yet) to shake staunch Leavers’ resolve?
