The Arms Race

We need to get the world vaccinated as fast as possible. We’re in an arms race: vaccines vs variants.

Why?

We need to get the world vaccinated as fast as possible. We’re in an arms race: vaccines vs variants.

Today, we’re losing. The variants are racing ahead, and the vaccines are falling short.

How?

We are asking everyone to join the arms race:

  • The public to pledge doses
  • Businesses to pledge even more
  • Rich countries to share the spares
  • The pharmaceutical companies to send more doses now to the poorest countries
  • And the G7 and G20 to fund and deliver 7 billion jabs by the end of 2021 and a further 7 billion by mid-2022, vaccinating 70% of the world’s population by then

If you want to help, you can:

1. Donate a dose at Go Give One
2. Write to your MP at Write To Them
3. Volunteer to help on the campaign by emailing us at thearmsrace@tortoisemedia.com
4. Re-watch our ThinkIn from Monday 6 September, where we discussed how many preventable lives will be lost from Covid-19

We are going to track everyone in the race – the public, businesses, vaccine manufacturers and governments.

It starts now.
