I was a video journalist and reporter at the Independent for two years before joining Tortoise in 2018. I was pleased that Tortoise’s first story published, by Paul Caruana-Galizia and I on the opioid epidemic of the North East of England, was nominated for the Orwell Prize for Exposing Britain’s Social Evils. I have written about climate justice, algorithms in policing and drill music, amongst other things, for Tortoise.
