Jeremy Corbyn is out of step with his Labour MPs. Those MPs are out of line with their local parties. On some fundamental issues, the Labour machine is out of tune with the country.
Across the United Kingdom, Labour’s support is stronger where the role of national identity is weaker. London is becoming a bastion, Scotland a desert. The job which confronts the party of figuring out how to deal with identity-based politics has barely begun.
